Bordeaux
Bordeaux is, simply, the largest quality wine producing region on earth. Claret, the English term for any red Bordeaux, is traditionally made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. It should have a dryness balanced by ripe blackcurrant fruit and, classically, smell of pencils or cigar boxes.
